Back to Basics

Q: If you're motivated but need help so you can prepare for a job search, where can you go?

Fred Victor’s Back to Basics understands the needs of adult learners as it relates to job readiness. Program participants can work with an instructor, tutors, and employment specialists on an individual basis to meet their employment goals. Located at the same site as Fred Victor’s Employment Ontario office, participants move fluidly through learning new skills, meeting pre-employment needs, resume writing, and developing interview skills.

Back to Basics refers program participants to educational upgrading programs, helps people find volunteer experiences and assists people to build confidence as life-long learners.

Back to Basics meets twice a week, Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m.

The Independent Learning Centre in Toronto provides information on where you can find General Educational Development (GED) programs in Ontario.  People who take and pass the GED, earn an Ontario Highschool Equivalency Certificate.  Check them out.
